 The Charles E. Bennett Memorial Playground recently went through a massive transformation in the Spring of 2017.

Some of the new features include an accessible swing, an expression swing (bucket swing that faces a belt swing so that children and parents can swing together), a play set for children under 5 years old, a play set for older children, a retro rocker, outdoor musical equipment, and a beautiful cross made from the timber of our former beloved playground.

Our playground is open to the community and is named in memory of Charles E. Bennett, a much beloved church member and former Congressman. Congressman Bennett had many notable accomplishments while in office throughout his 26 years in office, but perhaps his most well known accomplishment was sponsoring the bill that added "In God We Trust" to our coins & currency.  

 

As we see our children growing, playing, learning, and worshiping together, we can indeed declare that our trust is truly in God and that our future is bright!
