Children & Youth Ministry
Children and youth are a vital part of Riverside Avenue Christian Church.
A full schedule of classes and activities are offered, in age-appropriate settings, to help our children and teens experience God and learn how to live out their faith.
Nursery and toddler care is available for children from newborns through age 3 during the Sunday school hour and during the 2nd worship service. The nurture provided by our paid professional staff creates trust that will, in time, become trust in the security of the church and in God's love.
A worship time specially designed for the worship and learning needs of children. For Kindergarten through 2nd grade children, the Worship and Wonder experience is held during the 10:50 a.m. service, September through May. Children who wish to participate in the Worship and Wonder program leave the sanctuary with the Worship and Wonder leader following the Children’s Moment. Children meet their parents in Fellowship Hall at the close of the 10:50 a.m. service.
During Sunday school, children and youth (preschool through 12th grade) learn to relate the Bible to life. Children use age appropriate activities including stories, games, and discussions.
Nursery care is provided for the smallest children.
Our youth activities are designed to foster peer relationship and learning, playing, and working together in the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Bible study, service opportunities, and fellowship are provided through regular meetings. A calendar of activities is published monthly for youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
On Wednesday evenings, September through May, following dinner, children & youth (grades K through 12) have a variety of crafts, games, and activities.
Nursery care is also provided for children through age 4.
Through our Camp and Conference Center in Silver Springs, children in grades 3 through 12 are provided the opportunity to spend a week each summer exploring their faith and their relationship to God in the world God created.
