Children and Education

Riverside reaching out…

Our Christian faith calls us not only to worship, but also to serve.  Throughout scripture we are called to care for all of God’s children.  At Riverside, we are committed to serving our community, nation, and world in the name of Christ.  The church offers opportunity to be involved in serving with God’s people in several ministry-programs in three general ways – ministries related to children and education, ministries supporting neighborhood events, and ministries offering support to members of our local community. 

Serving in ministry related to Children and Education:

Below you will find information about the ministries and programs where we either work directly with children or provide support to those who work with the children of our community. 

• The Riverside Children’s Arts Center – our ministry providing arts opportunities to elementary age children in after school classes and summer camps

• Riverside’s Community Playground – we have developed and maintain a community playground on our property offering a safe place for our neighborhood’s youngest to play

 

• West Riverside Elementary School – our community partner with whom we work in a variety of ways

• School Staff Appreciation Luncheon and School Supply Drive – held before school resumes each fall, we honor those who give of themselves to our neighborhood children

• Children’s Enrichment Workshops – a community partnership supporting our local schools through Field Days, after school classes, and grants
